The Republicans make the claim that more taxes are a bad idea. My question is, how are all the bills going to get paid with fewer taxes? If taxes are cut with no plan as to how to fund all of the government’s commitments — such as highways, law enforcement, DHHS, employees who work for them — can anyone tell me how that can be done? Funding has to come from somewhere.

I am sure most people would like fewer taxes at all levels of government. But I would ask, what would people be willing to give up to achieve the goal of really lowering taxes for everyone?

My suggest is to reduce the size of government at all levels; that would be a “tax cut” that would last.
