Aline J. Violette

1928 – 2018

LEWISTON – Aline J. Violette, 90, formerly of 52 Rideout Avenue, Lewiston, died on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Scarborough Terrace in Scarborough, where she had been a resident for the past year and a half. Born in Van Buren on March 8, 1928, she was the daughter of Fred and Annie Madore Bell. Educated in Lewiston, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1946. On April 10, 1948, she married the love of her life, Benny Violette. Benny passed away on May 24, 2017. Aline worked for the advertising department at the Sun Journal for many years. A devoted wife and loving mother, she was a fantastic cook and baker and especially enjoyed baking pies and canning/freezing vegetables grown in their large garden. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by her two sons, Paul and his wife Fonda (Higgins) Violette of Fayette, and Marc Violette of York, and three daughters, Denise Violette and partner Marla Sax of Saco, Joline and husband Douglas Edwards of Saco, and Nancy and husband Ed Bush of Lisbon Falls, eight grandchildren, Katie Cormier, Mary Snow, Debbie Ricker, Cody Violette, Kara Violette, Connor Violette, Jack Gilman, and Grant Gilman, and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Cormier, Kelton Ricker, and Lachlan Ricker. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by an infant daughter, Jeanne, and seven brothers and sisters. The family is very grateful to the staff at Scarborough Terrace, Comfort Keepers, VNA Hospice and volunteer Geri Stiles for the love and attention given to Aline.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018, from 9-11 a.m., at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine Street, Lewiston, ME 04240, with a prayers service at 11 a.m. Interment at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
