LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women has set its semi-annual “Wise and Strong Women Speak” series from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1. Now in its seventh year, these evenings are designed to give voice to the stories of women. The public is welcome.

The guests this fall are Karen Krzywda and Tricia Tomlinson, both small-business owners in Lewiston who have made commitments to social entrepreneurship as part of their business plan.

Krzywda is the owner of Head to Toe Physical Therapy, an outpatient clinic located at the Health Club and Spa on outer Lisbon Street. Tomlinson and her sisters Jamie and Lindsey own Ben’s Burritos.

The focus of conversation will be on the role businesses can play in people’s lives, especially those who are less fortunate. Marguerite Stapleton will facilitate the discussion.

Light refreshments will be offered. This event is free, although donations will be accepted to support the Center. The Center is seeking donations of hygiene items (only basic, full-size, unopened containers) for the its hygiene pantry. Most needed items are shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste and sanitary pads.

No reservations are needed. The Center is a day drop-in center for women off Bates Street between Pine and Ash. Parking at the site is limited, but parking is available on the street or in Park Street garage.
