I support Eric Brakey for the U.S. Senate. His platform is common sense, and he will fight for Maine. I believe he will honor the Constitution, support the middle class, pursue Main Street economic policies for good-paying jobs, protect vulnerable citizens, address health care, fight corporate welfare, secure this country and pursue fiscal responsibility.

Growing up in Lewiston, I have deep Democratic Party roots. My grandfather was a Canadian immigrant, naturalized and elected district attorney for Androscoggin County as a Democrat when Maine was Republican. My family supported Edmund Muskie for governor, an election that pushed Maine to the Democrats. We were proud of JFK and Jim Longley. Today, those people could not likely be elected.

I thank Angus King for his decades of Maine public service, but will vote for Eric Brakey. I hope others will join me.
