The Bangor Daily News recently reported that Bruce Poliquin called his opponent, Jared Golden, a “young radical that embraces a socialist agenda” in a recent TV debate. Not once did he do this. Not twice but six times.

Why? Because Poliquin is reciting the talking points handed him by Republican political consultants. The same words — “radical socialist” — are being spouted by every Republican candidate this year. Donald Trump has been bloviating about “radical socialist” Democrats for the past month and Poliquin is doing the same.

They believe in that old theory: if you repeat a lie often enough people will believe it is the truth.

Voters can prove them wrong on Nov. 6 when they vote for the only war veteran and American hero in this race — Jared Golden.
