OES meeting will include potluck

AUBURN — Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.

The chapter will honor the stations of Conductress and Associate Conductress. Catherine Wood, grand conductress, and Evelyn Cookson, associate grand conductress, have been invited. The meeting will be preceded by a potluck supper at 6 p.m.

All Eastern Star members are welcome.

LEWISTON — The L&A Veterans Council invites all color guards/honor guards, from all veteran posts, fire and police departments, Shriners, Knights of Columbus, and youth organizations such as the Lewiston High School Jr. Airforce ROTC, Civil Air Patrol, Young Marines, etc., to participate in the Annual Veterans Day Program at the Lewiston Armory on Nov. 11, starting at 10 a.m., with line up at 9 a.m.

There will be free coffee and donuts at 9 a.m. by American Legion Post 22 and Auxiliary. The Edward Little High School band or any other high school bands are invited to come play a few musical selections, and also school choirs for the Musical Tribute to veterans which will follow the Pass in Review by the color guards.

Nov. 11 is the day all veterans are honored for their service to protect our country. Attend or participate at this special ceremony of Pass in Review and Musical Tribute at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Lewiston Armory.

Annual Auburn ski swap to be held

AUBURN — The 55th annual Auburn Ski Association Ski Swap will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Auburn Middle School off Court Street on Falcon Drive in Auburn.

There will be a selection of new and used winter sports equipment including skis, boots, poles, snowboards, helmets, clothing and more.

Folks wishing to sell used equipment on consignment, bring items to the Auburn Middle School cafeteria from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. There is a 50-cent charge per item and ASA keeps 18 percent of the sales proceeds. Checks from the sale of items will be available after the swap from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
