AudioBody to perform at Mountain Valley

RUMFORD — AudioBody Electronic Circus Arts will perform at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the Mountain Valley High School auditorium.

The free, family event will have a mix of circus arts, comedy, award-winning technology, world-class juggling, computerized LED light shows and live music.

Daughters raffle Holiday Food Basket

RUMFORD — The Daughters of Isabella are selling raffle tickets for Homemade Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy Dolls with wicker chairs. Proceeds will go towards our annual scholarships we award qualifying seniors each year.

Our annual Holiday Food Basket this year is a wheelbarrow filled with many different items — food, handmade items, gift certificates, etc. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Proceeds will go to the Daughters for their charitable activities.

Tickets will be available for both of these raffles at the Faith Formation breakfasts on Sunday, Nov. 4, and Sunday, Dec. 2, after the 9:30 Masses and at the Christmas In The Valley Craft Fair on Saturday, Dec. 1, at Mountain Valley High School.

The winners will be drawn on Dec. 9 for both raffles.

Selectboard changes monthly meeting night

HARRISON —  the Selectboard has changed their meeting nights to the second Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. That means their first meeting is Nov. 8.

WOODSTOCK — The Woodstock Historical Society will meet at the museum at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10.

This is the regular monthly meeting.  All are welcome to attend.

Country music show in South Paris

PARIS — The Maine Country Music Association Show and Dance will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Gray Stone Church, Main Street, South Paris across from Irving. Parking is available on Main Street or behind the library. There is a handicap elevator in the building.

Performing at the event will be the Lost & Found Band and Captain Kirk & Paula (Paula Kaiser). Concessions will be available. There will be raffles and a 50/50. Admission is $6 for non-members; $5, members; $2.50, children under 12. Children must be supervised at all times.

Next meeting of Daughters of Isabella

RUMFORD — St. Timothy’s Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Holy Savior Church Hall for a potluck supper with a monthly meeting to follow.

Chairpersons for the meeting are Viola Worcester and Louise Richard.  Committee members are Sue Adley and Judy Collette. The committee will supply desserts. Daughters are asked to bring a hot dish or salad for the supper.  A memorial prayer will take place.  

Attendees are being asked to donate non-perishable items, homemade items or cash donations for the Daughters’ Holiday Food Basket. Please bring goods or donations to the November meeting or see Cecilia Arsenault

The Christmas Party will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, at 49 Franklin. Anyone wishing to attend can sign up at the next meeting or contact Debbie Dorr or Lisa Doherty for more information.

The Daughters welcome their newest member, Maria Hayes, and congratulate Patricia Hopkins on her 59 years of membership.

Skeet shooting at fish and game 

WATERFORD — Recreational skeet shooting is held at 1 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. Thursdays at the Waterford Fish & Game Association, Route 118.

The public is welcome and should bring a shotgun and ammo. The cost is $3 a round of 25 targets.

Rumford Senior Center Nickel Bingo

PERU — The Rumford Senior Center is open for sign-ups or other business from 9 to 11 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Nickel Bingo is played at the center every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome.
