Austria’s armies, shattered by the blows of the Italians, British and French, are fleeing pell-mell on a front of more than 100 miles from the Brenta river east and south to the Adriatic. Apparently, the enemy lost all power of resistance on the important sectors. Countless bombers of prisoners are being taken by the allies. Field Marshal Haig has again taken up offensive operations on the front south of Valenciennes and reports his troops as making good progress. On the French front and on the American sectors east and west of the Meuse, only the artillery has been active. East of the Plave all of the allied armies are marching rapidly toward the Tagliamento in pursuit of the Austrians.
