LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women has announced its November programming. Morning programs are from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
The center is closed Monday, Nov. 12, in observance of Veterans Day, and Thursday and Friday, Nov. 22 and 23, for Thanksgiving.
Art Van: Wednesday, Nov. 14 and 28. Join the women at the center for healing art projects.
Post-Thanksgiving potluck: Monday, Nov. 26, for a luncheon. Bring a dish.
Bingo: Tuesday, Nov. 27.
November Birthday Celebration: Wednesday, Nov. 28, 12:30 p.m.
Nurses’ presentation: Thursday, Nov. 29, students nurses from the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College will present a program before the clothing giveaway.
Clothing Giveaway: Thursday, Nov. 29.
A full calendar of events and descriptions of support groups is available at wisdomswomen.org. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon Friday. All women are welcome. Programs are free and no appointments are needed. Oatmeal breakfasts are available daily, and the center has a shower.
The center is seeking volunteer applicants for companions, who have a professional background in social work, teaching, nursing, chaplaincy or other related fields. The commitment is half a day weekly. Those interested should contact Executive Director Klara Tammany at 207-513-3922.
Donations to the center may be sent to: The Center for Wisdom’s Women, P.O. Box 1016, Lewiston, ME 04243. The center can always use new hygiene products such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brushes, and dental floss.
