Back on Sept. 30, the Sun Journal published a letter to the editor that I had written stating how silly I thought ranked-choice voting was.

What is wrong with one mark for each candidate?

It is now several days after the election and the public still has no idea who won the U.S. Congressional election. The situation goes back to horse-and-buggy days, which is not fair to anyone.

I still say “no.” I voted against ranked-choice voting when the idea was put out to begin with. What was wrong with the old way? And the old way was cheaper, too.

At least, then, people knew who had won on the day of voting or the next day, not days down the road.
