Andre R. Levasseur

 

1950 – 2018

 

AUBURN – Andre R. Levasseur Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on Nov. 12, 2018, at the age of 68.

 

He was a loving husband, devoted father, and the best “Bumpy” to his grandchildren.

Andy was born in Lewiston, Maine on Oct. 11, 1950 and was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1970 and was a member of the 1969 Lewiston Blue Devils State Championship football team.

 

Andy was a very hardworking man. Starting at a very young age, he was pumping gas for his dad at the Lighthouse Gas Station in Auburn. He spent the last 15 years working for the Lewiston Public Schools, most recent at the Lewiston High School. He took great pride in his work as the Head Custodian.

 

Andy’s happiest times were spent at his home on Taylor Pond. He enjoyed riding around the pond on his pontoon boat and jet ski. He especially loved when his grandkids would come over and he would take them tubing around the pond.

 

He was the biggest fan to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching them all in action at their sporting events and competitions. They made him so proud.

 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Jeanne; his daughter, Amy Cercone and her husband, Richard; his son, Andre M. Levasseur and his companion, Melanie; his grandchildren, Abigail, Emilie, Rosemary, Matthew, Dominick, Jaden, and Reese; his sister, Libby Hopping and her husband, Ron; his sister, Jane Labrie and her husband, Thom; his mother-in-law, Patricia Potvin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, Andre Sr. and Theresa Murphy Levasseur; his nephew, Rhett Hopping; his sister, Neddie Harkins; his father-in-law, Richard Potvin Jr., and his brother-in-law, Michael Potvin.

 

Visitation will be held at The Fortin Group/Plummer Merrill  Funeral  home in Auburn on Friday From 5-8 p.m. Funeral  service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 3 p.m.
