TYNGSBORO, Mass. — Nick Malik scored in overtime to lift the Twin City Thunder to a 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Vengeance on Monday in the Islanders Hockey Club Showcase.
Malik’s game-winning goal, assisted by Matt Hanlon, was scored 30 seconds into overtime.
Malik also scored the Thunder’s first goal late in the opening period. Hanlon also tallied an assist on that goal along with Etienne Crousle.
Pittsburgh’s Nick Erker tied game in the second period.
Twin City (10-11) goalie Tanner Ames made 30 saves. Pittsburgh’s Jacob Zab also stopped 30 shots.
