RUMFORD – Mrs. Merilee A. Thurston, 70, died Thursday Nov. 15, 2018, at the Rumford Community Home. She resided on Rumford Center Road in Andover.

Born in Rumford, on Jan. 6, 1948, she was the daughter of Walter and Marjorie (Campbell) Jodrey. She was a graduate of Andover High School. Merilee worked as a Candy Striper, Diamond Match and MR Dowell Mill and also for Fall Line Condo Association in Security.

She enjoyed knitting, watching Hallmark Christmas movies and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Merilee was married in Andover, on July 26, 1969 to Rex L. Thurston, who died in South Paris, on Jan. 12, 2004.

Survivors include her four sons, Danny Thurston and his wife, Jackie of Andover, Jon Thurston and his wife, Patti of West Paris, Kurt Thurston and fiancé, Samantha Cormier of Dixfield and Joshua Messier of Mexico; a sister, Maggie Humphrey of North Carolina; many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; a grandson, Matthew Thurston; and a brother, Theodore Purcell.
