MECHANIC FALLS — Audience members can catch the spirit of Christmas at a concert that will feature Lewiston’s musically gifted Vaillancourt family at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Anglican Church of the Transfiguration, 64 Elm St.

The Vaillancourt family is preparing seasonally appropriate music for this concert. The three Vaillancourt children will perform with their parents.

Madeleine, 14, plays cello and flute, and is a veteran stage performer who has appeared in many musicals for the Maine State Music Theater and Community Little Theater, and has played with the Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra and cantors at the Basilica.

Genevieve, 11, is a budding violist and hornist who performs with her school ensembles, with the Portland Young Persons String Consort and in various Community Little Theater productions.

At 8, James is the youngest member of the Vaillancourt family and plays the violin and piano.

The concert will be followed by seasonal refreshments.

The church is housed in the former Mechanic Falls Congregational Church, which is being restored by its new congregation. Donations at the concert support improvements to the building and original organ.

The Vaillancourt family will perform a Dec. 2 concert in Mechanic Falls.
