MECHANIC FALLS — Regional School Unit 16 has announced its upcoming adult education community classes.

Babysitter Certification: Mia Comis, NREMT and AHA instructor, will teach students ages 12 and older about developmental stages, bottle-feeding, diaper changing, safety and age appropriate activities for baby-sitting. Includes pediatric first aid, CPR and AED use for the adult child and infant. From 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Registration: $75.

Bath Fizzies: Learn how to scent, color and mold a batch of bath fizzies with Julia Bundy. From 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. Registration: $24.

College Scholarship Searches: Jessica Whittier of the Finance Authority of Maine will share information about where to find scholarships, how to get organized to maximize applications and tips for writing great essays. From 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13. Free. Advance sign-up is required.

Computer Classes: Basics to Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Google, a variety of computer classes designed to meet personal and workforce needs are offered. Call for details.

Selling Your Home: Realtor Tammy Dumais will share tips on the ins and outs of putting a house on the market. From 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6. Registration: $7.

Snowmobile Safety: Learn how to properly operate and maintain a snowmobile. Laws and responsibilities, map and compass, environmental/landowner ethics, personal safety, first aid and survival skills will be covered. For ages 10 and older. An adult must stay with those under age 16. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17. Registration: $12.

Staying Home Alone: Red Cross trainer Judy Emch teaches 8- to 11-year-olds the fundamentals of staying home alone for short periods of time. From 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Registration: $30.

TechHire Maine: Call for more information about this opportunity for qualifying high school graduates who have an interest in computers and want to work in middle- or high-skill, tech-based jobs.

Wreath Making: Amy Kohtala will help students create a wreath for themselves or to give as a gift. Includes greens, wreath ring and wire for one wreath. Bring light gloves, cutters/pruners and ribbons/bows. From 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27. Registration: $27.

Drop in on tai chi sessions at the Elm Street School gym from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Tuesdays through Dec. 11 for $5 per class. Also, try yoga from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays through Dec. 3 for $8 per class. Bring a mat, water and a blanket.
