Now that the election is over, it is time to fix a glaring problem — candidates should be required to be residents of the districts they are running in.
Jared Golden would probably have won anyway, but the fact that he won with the help of second-choice votes after Tiffany Bond — who has nothing to do with the district — is outrageous.
A requirement should be one of the first things the Legislature should fix.
