The Maine Ski Hall of Fame inducted seven people at its 16th annual banquet Oct. 27 at Sunday River Ski Resort in Newry. They include, from left, front, Leon Akers, cross country coach and ski shop owner; Anne Dowling and Karen Colburn, U.S. freestyle champions; back, Warren Cook, Sugarloaf ski executive; David Stonebraker, prep school ski coach; and Kristina Sabasteanski, biathlete. Norman Libby, Bridgton winter adventurer who was the first to ski Pleasant Mountain in the 1890s, was the seventh inductee. The Maine Ski Hall of Fame recognizes Maine skiers who have brought distinction to Maine skiing or made significant contributions to the sport. (Andree Kehn/Sun Journal)
