James J “Chico” Parisi Sr.

1940 – 2018

TURNER – James J “Chico” Parisi Sr., 78, of Turner, passed away on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018. Jim was born in Rumford on May 6, 1940, the son of Antonio and Sarafina (Sciaraffa) Parisi from Italy.  He was raised and educated in Rumford. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He married Phyllis (Boulanger) on Jan. 14, 1961 and together they raised their  three children in Rumford.

He was a Town of Rumford Firefighter for 25 years and retired to take care of his wife during her long illness. They bought their dream home on Canton Lake and together enjoyed fixing it up, having many gatherings and making new friends.  Jim would say, “who loves you baby” to his grandchildren. He enjoyed taking family and friends on boat rides, swimming at the lake, having cookouts on that great porch overlooking the lake and celebrating  their milestone wedding anniversaries. His face would light up when Phyllis was enjoying herself and they were forgetting about their worries. His inner light went dim when Phyllis passed in December 2011. He is now home with his bride and smiling again.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Horne and her husband Barry and granddaughter Kaleigh (Horne) Gibson and her husband, Darrel all of Gorham;  son, James Parisi, Jr of Portland; and son, Jeffrey Parisi and his wife, Sonia and  grandson Antonio James (AJ) of Auburn. He was predeceased by his father, mother and siblings.

He requested no service; condolences may be expressed at FuneralAlternatives.net.
