WHITEFIELD, N.H. – Harvey Lee Clark, 91, of West Lebanon, N.H. and formerly of the Rumford area, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018 at the Morrison Nursing Home, Whitefield, N.H.

He was born March 10, 1927 in the Strathglass Park of Rumford, the son of Harry and Myrtle (France) Clark. He attended Rumford schools, but prior to graduating from Stephens High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, 4th Marine Division, as an automatic rifleman. Upon returning from World War II, he studied and earned his GED.

Harvey was employed as a fork lift driver at Oxford Paper Company and Boise Cascade Paper Company in Rumford for over 40 years until retirement. Following his retirement he was a volunteer at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center as a member of the Escort Service.

He was a Communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius – St John Church. Harvey was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, all of his life. He also was a country music fan, particularly, Johnny Cash.

He married Barbara Doherty Clark on March 29, 1948. They were married for 58 years before she passed away on May 31, 2006. Harvey never married again, always saying the he “had been married to the one true love of his life”.

Harvey is survived by his daughter, Sara Ferrer of West Lebanon, N.H.; a granddaughter, Ashley Ferrer and great-grandson, Aiden Ferrer, both of West Lebanon, N.H., two brothers-in-law. Richard Doherty of Rumford and Thomas Bryden of Peterborough, N.H.; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Doherty of Rumford and Kathryn Clark of Marine Del Rey, Calif.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Myrtle; and several siblings, Berniece, Harry, Claud, June, John, James, Richard, and Peter Dean.

Prayers with Military Honors will be conducted 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at the MEADER  &  SON  FUNERAL  HOME, CREMATION AND MONUMENT SERVICES, 3 Franklin Street, P. O. Box 537, Rumford, Maine 04276 with Fr. Nathan March officiating. Friends are invited to call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the services.
