The Old Town City Council last week appointed Moriah Geer to fill a school board seat that was to become vacant soon.

The seat currently is held by Lee Jackson, who, after five years on the board, resigned late last month because he will be moving to take a new job. His resignation is effective Jan. 1. Geer’s appointment is effective on the date jackson steps down.

Geer ran for RSU 34’s Board of Directors in November, when there were two slots open. At that time, she came in third.
