AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St., has announced the kids’ events scheduled for January.

Sprouts — Saturdays, Jan. 5, 12 and 26, 10 to 10:50 a.m., Children’s Room. Three Saturday mornings each month from early September through May the library hosts a lap-sit program for babies up to 36 months and their caregivers. Folks will gather on the story quilt with Heather for songs, nursery rhymes and dancing.

Tiny Tunes — Mondays, Jan. 7, 14 and 28, 10 a.m., Maggie Trafton Room. This music and movement program is for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

KIDS! Music Together — Thursday, Jan. 3, 10 a.m., Maggie Trafton Room. Caroline Coffin will offer a free demonstration class of Music Together at the library. Music Together is a research-based music and movement program designed to support the musical development of children and their caregivers. This program is best for children 5 and younger and their caregivers. 

KIDS! Music Together Big Kids — Thursday, Jan. 3, 6 p.m., Children’s Room. Coffin will lead a second free Music Together demonstration class for older kids. Music Together provides an array of musical experiences. This program is best for children ages 5-7 and their caregivers.

Pre-School Story Time — Wednesdays, Jan. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 3o, 10 a.m., Children’s Room. Each Wednesday morning the library offers a story program for children ages 3-5. All gather and go to the program room for stories, songs and a craft. Siblings are encouraged to attend.

KIDS! Lego Club — Friday, Jan. 4, 4 to 5 p.m., Maggie Trafton Room. This monthly Lego Club is for kids ages 5 and up and is held the first Friday of the month. The library will provide the space and the Legos. Space is somewhat limited so the program will be run on a first-come, first-served basis. Be advised there will be small pieces that present a choking hazard. This program is not suitable for very young children. 

KIDS! Read to a Dog — Tuesdays, Jan. 8,15, 22 and 29, 4 to 5 p.m., Children’s Room. Michael Fralich and his therapy dog, Mocha, will be there. Kids can sign up to read to Mocha. Call to register.

KIDS! Tinker Tuesday Sensory Snow Experience — Tuesday, Jan. 15, 4 to 5 p.m., Maggie Trafton Program Room. Corinna will help kids learn how to make snow with common household items and make it melt. This program is best for kids ages 6-12. Kids will go home with the snow formula to replicate at home. All materials will be provided by the library. Supplies are limited. Call to register.

KIDS! Saturday Stories — Saturday, Jan. 19, 10 to 10:30 a.m., Children’s Room. Local volunteer,, Judy D’Amour, will be there the third Saturday morning of most months, September through May, to read to the children. She leads children in interactive stories, rhymes, songs, creative dramatics and a craft. This program is best for children ages 2-6. 

KIDS! Wednesday Crafternoon — Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2 to 4 p.m., Children’s Room. This crafting program is held one Wednesday each month. The library will provide a project that kids can make and personalize. This month’s project will be creating pine cone owls. Best for kids in grades two through six.

KIDS! Winter Stories — Friday, Jan. 25, 10 a.m., Maggie Trafton Room. Kids are invited to listen to winter stories and make a snowman craft. 

KIDS! Free Family Movie — Saturday, Jan. 26, 1 to 3 p.m., The library will show the movie “Trolls.” Juice and crackers will be provided. Parents must remain with their children during the movie.
