Post to hold Texas hold’em poker
LOCKE MILLS — A Texas hold’em poker tournament will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Jackson-Silver Post 68, 595 Gore Road.
Doors open at 11 a.m., games begin at 1 p.m. There is a $50 buy-in, high hand options, pull tabs, 50/50, and meals and beverages will be available.
Eagles to host Texas hold ’em
RUMFORD — Fraternal Order of Eagles host Texas hold ’em poker tournaments on the second Thursday of each month.
Doors will open at 4 p.m. Games will start at 6 p.m. There will be a $50 buy-in with a $5 high hand as well as a 50/50 raffle. The kitchen will be open from 4 to 6 p.m.

Norway Legion to meet
NORWAY — Meetings at the Norway Legion will be held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.
Coffee hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesdays with desserts. All are welcome.

Library to hold author discussion
WATERFORD — Guest author Doretta Colburn will discuss her book, “Return to the Fountain, a Journey of Discovery,” at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Waterford Library, 663 Waterford Road.
This 2004 memoir is a journey through her daily life as a farmer, educator and ordained pastor. As an individual dedicated to bringing healing, balance and wholeness to others, and with new life chapters to discuss, Colburn will draw from this well of experiences. Copies of the book will be available for sale.
