BELMONT — A Lewiston man is accused of stabbing his teenage son during a fight along Route 3 in this town next to Belfast on Friday.
The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy spotted the father and son fighting on the side of the highway around 7 p.m.
Deputies said 59-year-old Allen Sanborn was driving with his 17-year-old son and a 16-year-old girl when the father and son began to argue. Sanborn stopped his vehicle, and the two got out and argued before Sanborn pulled out a knife and stabbed his son once in the torso, initiating a physical fight between the pair, according to deputies.
Both were taken to the Waldo County General Hospital for treatment.
Sanborn was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault, domestic violence assault and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. He is being held without bail.
