TURNER — Leavitt got everyone involved early and often and cruised to its fifth win in a row to start the season, 90-42 over Poland, in boys’ basketball action on Monday.
Jozian Learned tallied a game-high 19 points for the Hornets (5-0), while Cole Morin (12 points, 10 rebounds, six blocks) and Wyatt Hathaway (12 points, nine assists, six steals) contributed strong all-around performances.
Seven different Hornets scored as Leavitt buzzed out to a 19-6 lead after the first quarter. Leading by 18 at halftime, the Hornets got 14 from Learned in a 31-point third quarter to pull away.
Tyler Tucci led Poland (1-4) with 16 points while Isaiah Hill added 10 points.

POLAND — Leavitt shut out Poland in the second quarter, then hung on in the second half to defeat the Knights, 26-23, in girls’ basketball action on Monday.
Taylor White led the Hornets (1-4) with nine points, while Emma Chiasson and Kayleigh Gilbert tallied four points apiece. Ally Gagne paced the Knights (1-5) with 10 points.
