AUBURN – Robert Alcide Leduc, 71, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. Bob was born on July 26, 1947, in Lewiston, Maine, the son of Alcide and Aldea (Mailhot) Leduc. Bob was educated in Lewiston and graduated from Saint Dominic Academy. After high school, Bob attended Bliss College in Lewiston and received a degree in business management. After college, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy and was deployed twice to Antarctica, in total Bob spent seven years serving his country in the USN, and USN reserves. While in the Navy reserves, Bob met his wife of 47 years, Linda Elaine Veilleux, of Lewiston, Maine. Together, Bob and Linda raised their two daughters in Lewiston, where Bob worked at Marco and Harvey, and Food Town in Lewiston. Bob then spent 21 years at Geiger Brothers in Lewiston, retiring in 2016. Bob was very adept with technology, building and hosting his own email server as one example. Bob also enjoyed new technology gadgets and he seemed to have a new one every time they came out. Bob and his wife Linda enjoyed traveling with trips to: Bermuda, Italy, Alaska, Florida, Texas, Naples Maine, Bar Harbor, and Boothbay. Bob enjoyed cross-country skiing, camping, fishing, and boating. AKA: Canoe Ledu. Bob will be sorely missed by his surviving wife, Linda Elaine Leduc; brother, Charles Leduc and wife, Claire; sisters, Pauline Pare, Theresa Parent and husband, Raymond; sister-in-law, Valerie Ferrante and husband, James; daughters, Diana Riordan and husband, John, Christine Georges and husband, George; grandchildren, Amber Bissonette Leduc, Jared Leduc, Olivia Leduc, Kenneth Leduc Harris, Maya Georges, Kelsey Fish, Courtney Riordan, Chandler Riordan; great-grandchild, Carson Fish; as well as many loved nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Alcide and Aldea Leduc of Lewiston.

The family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Health Care, and the Hospice House of Auburn for their compassionate care given to Bob in his final few days. Visitation will be held at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine St., Lewiston, Maine, on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Family Church on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at 11 a.m. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
