SOUTH PARIS – , 71, passed away on Dec. 20, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. Tom was receiving end of life care from the comfort of his own home until he required further care. On Dec. 18, he was admitted at Market Square Nursing Home, in South Paris, where he was cared for until the day he passed.

The son of Thomas and Ada Chase, born in Middleborough Mass., on June 22, 1947. Tom and his wife, Gail, of 47 years, resided in Middleborough Mass. during their earlier years together, until they moved to Maine, in 1980.

Tom and Gail raised four children together: Jean Wilcox, Colleen Tierney, William Tierney, and Amanda Millett. In addition to his wife and children, he also leaves behind his son-in-law, Jeff Wilcox; grandson-in-law, Shawn Millett, and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Millett.

Tom was an exceptionally hard worker who retired after spending 40 plus years in the paving industry. He was also an incredibly kind hearted and humble man, who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved to hunt and spend time outdoors, but above all, he loved to be with his family.

A special thanks to Beacon Hospice and their wonderful staff for the care and support they provided to Tom and his family during his last days.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor. Anyone who wishes to attend this event is welcome to join Tom’s family on Jan. 19, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the American Legion Hall, 112 King St., in Oxford.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
