JAY — Two people were injured Friday morning when a car went through a stop sign at Bean’s Corner, struck an SUV and forced both vehicles to collide with a third vehicle.

A Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Allison Callahan, 19, of Farmington was traveling east on Depot Street/Route 156 on the Wilton side of the road, and didn’t see the stop sign at Route 133, Jay police officer David Morin said.

Callahan’s car struck a Ford Escape driven by Tammy Davis, 53, of Jay, which was heading north on Route 133 toward Farmington, he said.

The vehicles then collided with a Subaru Outback driven by Bentley Meyer, 20, of Concord, Massachusetts, which was stopped at the stop sign on Chesterville Road/Route 156, Morin said.

Callahan and Davis were taken by NorthStar EMS ambulances to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington with injuries that were not life threatening, he said.

Meyer was not injured.

Callahan told police she didn’t see the stop sign, Morin said.

Jay Fire Rescue Department helped with traffic control and cleanup of the roads while Wilton police assisted Morin with the accident.

All three vehicles were towed from the scene of the accident reported at 11:18 a.m., Morin said.
