The program is from noon to 1 p.m. at the Village Inn, 165 High St.

Jesse Harvey is a recovery advocate interested in building more recovery-ready communities. Drug use, trauma, incarceration and isolation brought Jesse to a profoundly dark place. After experiencing drug poisoning and trying to take his life several times, Harvey was involuntarily committed by a judge, for the fifth time, into treatment.

In 2015, Harvey was discharged to a Portland recovery house to start rebuilding his life. Today he has been in recovery for over three years and is studying to get his master’s degree in policy, planning and management.
