FARMINGTON — The 36th Annual Children’s Festival will again be held at Mt. Blue Campus on the Seamon Road.

The festival, sponsored by Franklin County Children’s Task Force, is always held the first Saturday of February vacation. For the second year, it will be held at Mt. Blue Campus on the Seamon Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday Feb. 16.

The Children’s Festival will be held 1o a.m. to 2 p.m., February 16 at the Mt. Blue Campus in Farmington. There will be free activities for children to enjoy, such as the face painting seen here from last year’s festival, the first held at the high school. (Sun Journal file photo)

The mostly free event is a cabin fever reliever that gets families out of the house and in from the cold. Hundreds attend each year where children can play, interact with others and enjoy a variety of entertainment.

FCCTF Community Coordinator Rileigh Blanchet said attendees should plan to enter Door 5 near the gym. There will be signs posted to remind and direct people.

Blanchet said 21st Century Kids of FRANKLIN Staff will provide free Face Painting to all children. Families can also decorate cookies.

“For entertainment we will have a read aloud with an officer from the Maine State Police, a magical magician, and a Go Noodle dance session,” Blanchet said. “We will have the gross motor play area where children can play and dance and get their sillies out. We will also have an infant/toddler area for the littles to play in.”

The only cost for the event is for food items that will be available in the Food Court. Pizza and hot dogs will be $2; popcorn, Goldfish, cotton candy and beverages $1 and clementines and bananas $0.50.
