The Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland Tri-Town Optimist Club has announced its January RSU 16 Student of the Month recipient, Ben Cushman. An eighth-grader from Bruce Whittier Middle School, Cushman is described by his teachers as a student who exemplifies the school’s core values on a daily basis: Empathy, Integrity, Perseverance, Loyalty, Compassion and Responsibility. He is considerate of those around him and strives for academic excellence. Cushman also participates in his school community through student council, cross country and guitar club.
