An SUV stalled on the railroad tracks at 214 Mount Auburn Ave., Auburn, on Wednesday shortly before 9:30 a.m. after it caught on fire under the hood, prompting a fast response from emergency personnel. Railroad officials said no trains were scheduled to come through Auburn at that location any time soon, and that they would delay any upcoming trains until the vehicle could be removed. Auburn Deputy Fire Chief Matthew Fifield said fire crews quickly extinguished the flames and a fire investigator concluded the fire was caused by mechanical issues. The owner of the vehicle was insured and no one was injured as a result of the incident, Fifield said. (Sun Journal photo by Andree Kehn)
