LISBON — Police said a woman injured in a head-on crash late Friday afternoon remained in stable condition at Central Maine Medical Center on Saturday.

Christine Amaya, 52, of Sabattus crossed the centerline on Route 9 between King and Upland roads just before 4 p.m. Friday, striking a 2001 Chevy pickup driven by Nicole Norman, 37, of Lisbon. Amaya was driving a Red 2000 Chevrolet Blazer.

Police said Amaya has numerous fractures and is in stable condition. Norman was taken by United Ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where she was evaluated and released.

Police said charges against Amaya may be pending. They are awaiting toxicology results that may take several weeks to get back.
