FARMINGTON – William “Chum” Walsh, 75, a resident of Jay, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at Sandy River Center in Farmington, following a brief illness. He was born May 1, 1943, in Lewiston, the son of Gerald Walsh and Virginia (Latham) Walsh. He was a 1962 graduate of Jay High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1967. Chum worked at their family owned business Latham’s Service Station in Jay for many years. Following the closure of Latham’s he went to work for Big Apple in Canton, working there until his retirement in 2007.  He married Louise (Dube) York on Aug. 10, 1984, they enjoyed 31 years together before her passing in 2015.  He enjoyed fishing, racehorses, hockey and especially spending time with his family. He is survived by many family members, friends and loved ones. A graveside service with military honors at Jay Hill Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls, Maine.
