Andre “Andy” D. Pomerleau

LEWISTON – Andre “Andy” D. Pomerleau, 75, of Lewiston passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at CMMC, following a short stay in the ICU. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Andy was born in Lewiston, son of Honore and Georgianna Pomerleau. He was employed in local shoe factories throughout his life. Andy was a hard worker who would often work two or three jobs to support his family. In his younger years, he enjoyed many activities such as camping, biking, and swimming. After retiring, he spent time traveling with the love of his life Jeanne to places such as Las Vegas, Foxwoods, Florida, and Hawaii. He also enjoyed taking walks to Thorncrag Nature Sanctuary and swimming with his grandchildren, along with watching old western movies and comedy shows. He loved to make jokes and had a contagious laugh. He loved family gatherings, especially birthday parties and never missed an opportunity to have a big piece of birthday cake!

Andy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jeanne Pomerleau; his daughter, Ann-Marie Dion and husband, Dan of Sabattus, son, Jeff Pomerleau of Lewiston; four grandsons, Peter Quigley, Brady Dion, Casey Dion and Brandon Pomerleau, three granddaughters, Elizabeth Gove, Anna Pomerleau and Leah Pomerleau; brother, Marcel Pomerleau, sister, Muriel Asselin and husband, Fern, brothers-in-law, Gerry Picard and wife, Paulette, Ray Picard, and Lucien St. Pierre; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Roland Pomerleau and wife, Georgette, and Richard Pomerleau, sister, Lucille St. Pierre, sister-in-law, Diane Pomerleau; in-laws, Albert and Simone Picard.

The Pomerleau family would like to thank CMMC’s trauma team and ICU staff for their exceptional care and support, it was dearly appreciated. An hour of visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 26 from 1-2 p.m. at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa Street, Lewiston.
