FARMINGTON — A Carthage man is accused of sexually abusing two 15-year-old girls in separate cases in Franklin County.

Warren D. Strout (Franklin County Detention Center)

Warren D. Strout, 54, was arrested Thursday on a felony charge of unlawful sexual contact and violation of condition of release, according to Franklin County Detective Kenneth Charles’ affidavit filed with the court.

Charles also issued Strout a summons earlier Thursday on a misdemeanor charge of unlawful sexual touching against another teen that occurred this past summer, according to the court document.

He is accused of sexually molesting in the unlawful sexual contact case three times between December 2018 and February 2019.

According to the affidavit, Strout threatened the girl the first time that if she told anyone “he would make her ‘regret it and it wouldn’t end up good for anyone.'” The second time it occurred, she was threatened that if she told anyone “her life would be hell,” Charles wrote.

Strout denied the allegations in the unlawful sexual touching charge in a taped interview, according to Charles’ affidavit. Strout asked for a lawyer during the interview on the unlawful contact charge. The interview was terminated and Strout was placed under arrest.
