BATH — The Scottish Celtic band Heron Valley will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, in the Chocolate Church Annex, 804 Washington St.

The energetic, young traditional band from Scotland has its roots in Scottish and Irish traditional music while taking influence from folk, country and bluegrass styles. The members include Kyle Howie of the Red Hot Chili Pipers, banjo player/drummer Nick Hamilton, pianist Arlene Mackechnie, guitarist/vocalist Abigail Pryde and bassist Callum Cronin.

They began performing in 2014 and a year later they set themselves the challenge of releasing a music video and a debut single. This began with their set of tunes, “Pressed for Time.” In 2016 they released their second single, “Home,” along with an extremely diverse music video which can be viewed on youtube.

In 2017 they set out on a European tour of more than 20 festivals.

Tickets are $20 and are available online at chocolatechurcharts.org or by calling the box office at 207-442-8455.
