Big Swing Tournament benefits ‘Bigs’

BRUNSWICK — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick’s annual Big Swing Tournament will be held on Friday, Sept. 13, at the Brunswick Golf Club, 165 River Road. A shotgun start will open the tournament at 9 a.m.

The organization’s goal is to raise $42,000 at The Big Swing, which will support 42 more Big and Little matches. Rain date is Sept. 16.

Participants can form a team of four, become a sponsor, or donate an auction item goods or service. Prices for the golf tournament are $150 entry fee per golfer or $500 per foursome (a $100 team savings) for 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, awards, prizes and on-course contests. There will be mulligans and strings to purchase, and chances to shoot for a Hole-In-One prize, a $10,000 valued trip.

Lewiston Bridge Club to play

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club plays at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are welcomed.

Food pantry seeks donations 

AUBURN — The High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry has ongoing needs for the following items: peanut butter, canned vegetables, soup, canned pasta, canned meats, canned fruit, dry cereal, baking items, soup, crackers and toilet paper.

Auburn United Methodist Church collects items for the pantry. Donations may be brought to 439 Park Ave.
