Last week’s mystery photo fooled over a dozen people who incorrectly guessed it was in various locations throughout the state from Bethel to New Gloucester and several others in between.  However, a handful of people correctly identified the Civil War Monument in downtown Monmouth.  Our winner, Cynthia Peters, of Lewiston, humbly recounted a story about how she went looking for it several years ago and couldn’t find it.  When she went to the police station to ask, they chuckled and told her to turn around and look across the street.  She was a little embarrassed but laughed with them and went across Main Street (Route 132) in Monmouth to get her photo.
