LEWISTON — St. Mary’s Health System, a member of Covenant Health, recently hired four seasoned veterans to its nursing leadership team.

Lisa Burrell joins as the director of clinical education and professional practice. Most recently, she was the director of education at Doctors Community Hospital in Laurel, Maryland. Burrell earned her doctorate from Capella University and her master’s degree in nursing from Queens University of Charlotte. She is accredited in nursing professional development and a certified nurse executive and holds adjunct faculty roles at both Washington Adventist University and Grand Canyon University.

Katie Graffam joins as the director of the medical surgical telemetry unit. Her experience includes working at Maine General Medical Center where she held the position of nurse manager, rehabilitation and Central Maine Medical Center where she was the nurse manager of medical, surgical and oncology. Graffam earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Colby-Sawyer College and her master’s degree in nursing from Purdue University Global.

Michelle Sanborn joins as the director of care coordination. She most recently worked at Patient Advocates as an advocacy manager. At CMMC, she held roles as the system director of care management and the system director of capacity management. Sanborn earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Southern Maine and her MBA for Southern New Hampshire University. She is also an accredited case manager.

Denise White joins as the interim director of the intensive care unit. She has more than 20 years of critical care experience and most recently served as director, critical care at Lawrence General Hospital in Massachusetts. White earned her doctor of nursing practice degree from Fairfield University, her master of health administration degree from Western CT State University, and her BSN from USM. She is also accredited as a nurse executive advanced and critical care registered nurse.
