SOUTH PARIS – John T. Edwards Sr., 79, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris. He was formerly of Mexico.Born in Philadelphia, Pa., on May 30, 1941, he was a son of John and Ruth Edwards. John graduated from Lenape Regional High School in Medford, N.J., class of 1960. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1966. He worked as a bus driver for Peru, Dixfield and SAD #43 school systems and for 10 winters at Sunday River until his retirement on 2003.John was a member of the Rumford Falls Aerie #1248, FOE, Napoleon Ouellette Post #24, American legion, Robert Shand Post #1641, VFW, he loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.John was married in Dixfield, on March 7, 1970, to Lucy Wing who died in Rumford on May 8, 2000. He is survived by his daughters, Andrea Wing of Hillsborough, N.H., Sarah O’Leary and husband Jamie of Mexico, Brenda Brooks and husband Henry of Greenwood, sons, John Jr. of Bethel, Ronald of Auburn and Michael of Westbrook, a brother, Robert and his wife Ellen of Morristown, N.J., a sister, Carol Sharkey of Pennsylvania, 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by his wife and a son, James A.
