Lindsey Whitney and Connor Joy were married on June 14, 2020, on a beautiful, sunny day in York. The ceremony was officiated by Mr. Cameron Ramich, a high school classmate of the bride, and took place on the beach with just the immediate family and the wedding party due to COVID-19 restrictions. The ceremony was followed by a wonderful luncheon on the patio of the Stage Neck Inn in York, where the river meets the sea.

The parents of the bride are Command Master Chief United States Navy Retired Thomas and Karen Whitney of Lisbon Falls. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alden Joy of Windham.

A second ceremony and reception were held on Oct. 9, 2020, with new COVID-19 restrictions allowing for the attendance of more family and friends. The ceremony was performed on the point behind the Stage Neck Inn with a beautiful ocean view. The bridal party included the maid of honor, Ms. Erika Burns, and bridesmaids Mrs. Shannon Richards-Wilkes, Ms. Katherine Lemieux and Ms. Mackenzie Joy.  The best man was Mr. Sean Zubrod and the groomsmen were Mr. Christopher Whitney, Mr. Jordan Richards-Wilkes, Mr. Cameron McCallister and Mr. Riley Flynn. The flower girls were Miss Harper Richards-Wilkes and Miss Amelia McGee.

They then moved to Rhode Island where the bride pursued her master’s degree in human development at the University of Rhode Island, graduating in May 2018. The couple got engaged in November of 2018. Unfortunately, their planned European honeymoon was canceled due to the pandemic.
