Equipment is being moved into Auburn’s new Central Fire Station on Minot Avenue daily and firemen hope to occupy the new quarters by next week. Fire Chief Vincent Giberti said today the target for a complete shift from old station to new is the middle of next week. On Monday the moving process began and much equipment including small household items and fire hoses were taken to the new facility by members of the department. Giberti noted that the moving procedure has to be piecemeal, while full operations are maintained at the Court Street station. This obviously slows down the moving process. Giberti said the communications are centered at the old station. When the final move is ready the communications will be switched to the new station in a matter of seconds.
