Barbara J. Withee
GREENE – Barbara J. Withee, 86, of Greene, passed away Feb. 21 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Barbara was born to Alfred and Maude Obermeyer in Powell, Wyo. on May 20, 1934. She moved to Maine with her parents when she was a year old. Barbara married Frank Withee on Jan. 27,1951. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her children grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara loved gardening, reading, and spending time at the ocean.
Barbara was an avid supporter of her husband Frank in his harness racing business for over 40 years. She also worked side by side with Frank in managing Lavish Acres , a breeding and training facility for standardbreds in Greene.
Barbara is survived by her husband Frank; daughter, Kathy Campbell and husband Mark, son, Steven Withee, daughter, Kim Withee, daughter, Robyn Crochere and husband David, and son, Jason Withee and wife Maureen; brother, William Obermeyer and wife Jane; grandchildren, Christopher, Rebecca, Jessica, Danielle, Kaitlin, Ashley, Nicholas, Samantha; great-grandchildren, Reed, Dexter, Isabella, Coraline and Bentley; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Donald Obermeyer.
There will be a celebration of her life at a later date.
