It is nice to know there are good Samaritans among us. The two local men who stopped early Saturday morning to call 911 and render assistance when they saw a house fire on Clover Mill Road in Farmington are such people.
It is fitting that Seth Harris and Iaian Stross-Perham be recognized for their heroic attempts to rescue the two occupants, William and Tomasa Vincent — as well as their five dogs — from their burning home, despite dangerous and difficult circumstances.
Tragically, as has been reported, both William and Tomasa and three dogs eventually succumbed to the fire. As neighbors, we mourn their loss and offer condolences to their family and friends.
At the same time, we would like to express gratitude to Mr. Harris and Mr. Stross-Perham for their selfless efforts in attempting to rescue the Vincents and their dogs.
