RUMFORD — In keeping with tradition in the River Valley Area, the annual Easter egg hunt — co-hosted by the River Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Mexico Firemen’s Relief Association — will take place on Saturday, April 3, throughout the towns of Peru, Dixfield, Mexico and Rumford.
Children ages 4 to 12 may participate. Clues for the hidden eggs will be read through radio station WMPF 91.1FM from 6 to 9 a.m. When an egg is found, the finder will have until 10 a.m. to take it to the Mexico Fire Department (back entrance) and receive an Easter basket. One egg is allowed for each child.
To sponsor an egg for $10, call the chamber office 207-364-3241, drop the donation in the chamber mailbox at the Information Center, 10 Bridge St., or drop it in the mail to River Valley Chamber Easter Egg Hunt, 10 Bridge St., Rumford, ME 04276. Sponsor names will be read over the radio station.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
