Madelyn J. Bradstreet

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Madelyn J. Bradstreet, 65, of Dover-Foxcroft, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Brunswick on Oct. 13, 1955, the daughter of Arlene and Norman Newell Sr. She attended school in Auburn, Durham and Freeport. Madelyn was retired from the Navy where she served her country from 1979-1999, serving most of her time in the continental United States to include Maryland, Tennessee, Key West, Fla. and Brunswick. She also toured in Signorelli Sicily, Cuba and on the USS John F Kennedy. She lived in Dover/Foxcroft with her life partner, Lorretta Clukey where they enjoyed four wheeling, camping and at times snowmobiling. In the past several years she could be seen at the Casinos, where she loved to spend time. Madelyn was predeceased by her mother, Arlene Slocum Newell, her father, Norman Newell Sr.; and an older brother, Steven D. Newell, all from Durham. She has one daughter, Carie Bradstreet Washburn, two stepchildren, Brock Clukey and Tonya Lavensalor; and numerous grandchildren, Ashely Richardson, Alyssa Richardson, Alex Washburn, Teagan Clukey, Taryn Lavensalor, Davyn Lavensalor and Adam Jacob “AJ” Clukey. Also surviving are her two brothers, Ronald Newell Sr. of Pownal and Norman Newell Jr. of Durham, two sisters, Linda Bowie of Durham and Nikki Theriault of Portland. A service will be held in the near future for family and friends, the time and placed will be announced at a later date.
