At last week’s meeting, Rotary presented scholarships to two Telstar HS June 2020 graduates. Emily Fraser and Kory Crockett-Harrington, both freshman and doing their classes remotely, are doing well and looking forward to normalcy next semester. Dr. Kevin Finley, the chair of our scholarship committee, did the presentations.

BETHEL — We enjoyed another all-star program at our meeting this week. We have had a quarterly “pandemic panel” where we have updates from a cross section of our communities. Rotarian and Superintendent of Schools, Dave Murphy, gave us an update on how our schools are faring – and it was all good news!

Jessie Seymour Perkins, ED of the Bethel Area Chamber shared what is going on in our business community. Guidelines are always shifting, and restrictions are slowly being lifted, which is good news. Loretta Powers, Bethel’s Town Manager, shared that the Town of Bethel is faring well, despite a recent closure of the town office due to a Covid scare.

Dr. Kevin Finley updated on the state of Covid locally and that the Bethel Family Health Center is starting to provide vaccines to their patients. Very informative presentation that drew a large crowd!
