Donald R. Galarneau

LEWISTON – Donald R. Galarneau, 75, a resident of Scribner Blvd., passed away Saturday March 20, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital following a short illness with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston, July 5, 1945, the son of Roger F. and Gracia (Beaulieu) Galarneau.

Mr. Galarneau worked many years for the Dominican Priests for many years until his disability in 2004.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with family and was known as a great dancer. He would do anything for anybody. He was a wonderful man and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, the former Joan Drouin of Lewiston, one son, Scott Galarneau and companion Tracy Benoit of Hebron, one brother, Richard Galarneau and wife Ann of Auburn, one sister, Denise Foss and husband, Russell of West Minot, also surviving are two grandchildren, Abby and Tony, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his twin brother, Ronald Galarneau, O.P.

Funeral services honoring Don’s life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday March 27, at the funeral home followed by committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 26, from 5-7 p.m., at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston. Please note all attendees must wear face coverings and maintain social distancing per Maine CDC guidelines.
