REGION — This weekend two local farms will be participating in Maine Maple Sunday, a long running tradition where sugarhouses statewide open their doors for people to come and sample their tasty treats and to get a glimpse at the maple syrup production process.

Swain Family Farm, 185 West Bethel Rd, Bethel, will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. The farm will have ice cream with warm maple syrup available along with maple candies.

Dunham Farm, 29 Dunham Rd, Greenwood, will be open both Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Breakfast wraps will be served from 8 a.m. to noon both days and maple turkey chili would be served from noon to 4 p.m. both days.

Most of food will be for takeout, but heated indoor seating will be available for people living in the same households. There will be tables set up outside with a firepit, also.

More than 80 sugarhouses across the state will be open for the fun this weekend.
