Lorraine Moore

OXFORD – Lorraine Moore, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born May 3, 1929 in Chelsea, Mass., the daughter of Wilson and Gladys (Puddister) King.

Lorraine was a graduate of Wakefield High School; for many years she worked for Compugraphics developing fonts on film. She married Arthur Moore June 9, 1949.

She was a member of the Wilmington Methodist Church. Lorraine had many hobbies including ceramics, stenciling and crocheting. She was a passionate shopper, loving to go to malls and retail stores.

Lorraine will be remembered as a great mom, a loving grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker who cherished her family.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Moore; five children, Donald Moore and wife Theresa, Karen Moore and partner Tim Boucher, Elaine Reitchel and partner Don Sands, Nancy McKenna, and Terry Moore and wife Colleen; six grandchildren, Kim Kannaley, Bobby McKenna, Andy McKenna, Scott McKenna, Rachel Moore, and Steven Moore; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Kannaley, Maggie McKenna, and Selena McKenna; nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was predeceased by a son-in-law, Bob McKenna; two brothers, Boyd and John King.

Lorraine’s family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses of Beacon Hospice and Elite. The amazing nurses that cared for her were angels. Thank you for your care, compassion, and love that you gave to Lorraine every day, you are truly a part of our family. We also want to express our gratitude to Katie and Blair her beauticians from The Maine Room.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Oxford Hills Funeral Services, 1037 Main St., Oxford. Mask-wearing and social distancing will be used according to guidelines.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday March 31 at the Oxford Hills Funeral Services with a burial following at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner St., Auburn.
